fashion portfolios is what can lead you to do anything in fashion
or design.
here's for you to study fashion influences as well as fashion inspiration
to your imagination.
1. starting out
If you already have some great complete work try to organise them by categories i.e. summer
autumn , winter for collections .
if your like me just starting out in how to draw figures you can go on YouTube and search
how to draw fashion or get inspiration.
2. getting to know
Include the samples you may have copied a selection of or inspiration to show
your originality.
you may also want to look at some other fashion illustrators such as
Hayden Williams or Laura Laine and Gloria radio
and Florian meacci , Lutheen , Chung fu ng
people I take inspiration from .
3. show what you got
Show some kind of knowledge like what type of dress you drew or
what shape it is best fit for and who your trying to sell to
try to get swatches (small samples of fabric ) to show or know what fabric you
may intend to use for your particular sketch.
4. rock it out
Show in clear if you have actually sewed an living sized form of what type of garment you
have drawn .
take a clear picture of it and pay attention to the close details
5. show them what they're working with
Start your portfolio with your best designs at the front and work your way down
cause they may flip just by what they see at the start of the portfolio.
